in-tech now offers the intelligent easymon app for all Beckhoff controllers with Automation Device Specification (ADS) interface. This allows users to access live data values from the ADS controllers and be informed in real time if manual intervention is required. Until now, the mobile application was reserved for users of PLCnext controllers from Phoenix Contact, but now Beckhoff Automation has joined as a partner. Installation and commissioning of the app have been designed to be simple and intuitive. It can be used to monitor system parameters, for example those that should not exceed a certain value, via smartphone. To do this, the easymon Connector accesses the ADS interface of the controller to read variables from the program. Data points to be monitored can be selected via a web interface and threshold values and criteria for notification can be defined. In addition, the app is installed on a mobile device that communicates with the machine via a cloud service.
