TWK-Elektronik has added three sensor models to its safe SIL2-certified rotary encoders and cam switch units: the TRK/S3 absolute multiturn rotary encoder (pictured left) with Safety over Ethercat interface (FSoE) completes TWK's series of magnetic rotary encoders. It enables the safe monitoring of the position and speed of a system. The FSoE protocol runs on the standard Ethercat, so that non-safety and safety devices can be operated in the same Ethercat network. The SIL2/PLd-certified HBN/S3 singleturn encoder with CANopen safety interface is available in the series of high-resolution magnetic encoders. It offers a resolution of up to 22 bits per turn. Last but not least, the range of inclination and vibration sensors has been expanded to include the safe vibration transducer NVA/S3 (pictured right). This can safely detect vibrations in the range 0.1 to 60 Hz and output them via CANopen Safety or analog. It also has two SIL2/PLd-certified switching contacts that safely switch off the system if the acceleration warning and alarm values are exceeded. The calculation of the frequency spectrum of the acceleration signal using Fourier analysis is in preparation.
