Hanover Fair 2019New products at the industrial trade fair
'Industrial Intelligence' - this is the guiding theme of the Hannover Messe 2019. Computer&AUTOMATION shows an excerpt of the products that can be seen in Hanover in a picture gallery.
With the new DCS portal from Aucotec, the specifications from the system design can be automated and transferred directly to the programming of common control systems (Distributed Control System, DCS). This bridge leads to any automation system that is capable of communication - even to several in parallel. According to the manufacturer, this makes the portal particularly helpful for general contractors or for operators who have different control systems in use. Each has its own programming tools and uses different software modules ("typicals"). The Software Engineering Base (EB) can provide a corresponding container in the portal for all of these "system brains". Each container serves as a kind of "synapse" for transferring the design information, which can then be transferred simultaneously to different control systems with different configurations. This also benefits manufacturers who build similar systems multiple times, only with different control systems. The platform combines the core disciplines of basic engineering including FEED (front-end engineering design), process design, instrumentation & control and electrical engineering in a single, shared data model.
