SPN Schwaben Präzision has developed an articulated wrist for the specific purposes of a robotics manufacturer with a focus on the automotive industry.
According to the supplier Dynetics, the brushed DC motors in the DMN series from Nidec Servo have three times the service life of conventional motors in continuous operation. As a representative of Nidec Servo, the company offers a range of brushed and brushless DC motors (internal and external rotor) for 12 and 24 V(DC). In addition to the motors, there are also suitable encoders and gearbox solutions with several reduction ratios per gearbox. According to the supplier, the ball bearing motors and planetary gearboxes in the series are very powerful thanks to the use of resin as an integral component of the brush housings. In addition, the motor noise has been reduced by around 8 dB (A). The integrated brushes have a greater length than comparable designs and are made from a hardened material. This results in less wear and a service life of 3000 hours. New to the range is the 24 V(DC) 'DMN29B' with a gearbox that is more than 2.5 times stronger (490 mNm).
