For use in heavy-duty robots, Nabtesco offers a graduated product portfolio of gearbox systems with nominal torques of up to 28,000 Nm. With this nominal torque of 28,000 Nm, the RV-2800N is currently the world's largest and most robust precision gearbox, according to the manufacturer. The XXL gearbox combines performance, torsional rigidity and compactness, opening up areas of application for robots in which users previously relied on solutions such as hydraulics or spindles - for example when moving large panes of glass, sheet metal, machine parts or even entire vehicles. The gearboxes are available with solid or hollow shafts. In cycloidal gears, power is transmitted via cams and rollers. This ensures continuous contact and uniform force distribution within the gearbox, resulting in high rigidity. This allows very high torques to be transmitted with maximum precision (hysteresis loss <1 arcmin).
