... Stiftung Ambulantes Kinderhospiz München-AKM has been a contact point for families with children and young people with life-threatening illnesses for over ten years. WEKA FACHMEDIEN is of the opinion that this deserves support. That's why publishing directors Peter Eberhard and Matthäus Hose set out on December 6, 2016 to present the foundation with a St. Nicholas gift to benefit the young patients and their families.

Children who are seriously or terminally ill require care appropriate to their illness, which is usually very costly and time-consuming. This places a considerable psychological burden on all family members. To ensure that families do not become overwhelmed by the situation, the AKM provides them with a professional team of highly qualified and specialized specialists such as doctors, psychologists, social pedagogues, midwives and nurses. Crisis and grief counselors help to deal with acute crises or the death of a child. The AKM's volunteer family counselors also look after the healthy siblings of sick children who are neglected in these situations.

The foundation relies on donations large and small to provide accommodation and care for the children and their families. Only with the help of many helping hands and generous donors can the foundation maintain and expand its services for the affected families.

Last year, WEKA FACHMEDIEN donated a sum of money to the Stiftung Ambulantes Kinderhospiz München-AKM, which was used to provide a family with comprehensive care and support for a year. The publishing house managers were given an insight into the foundation's diverse work on site. They were so impressed that they told St. Nicholas about it.

As a result, Peter Eberhard and Matthäus Hose popped into the outpatient children's hospice again this year with a donation cheque. This time, St. Nicholas added a lot more. With the cheque for €10,000, one and a half families can be cared for by AKM for a year.

Angela Zacher, Head of Public Relations at the foundation, was delighted when she was presented with the cheque. And St. Nicholas is happy anyway when he can make children happy.
