The Munich area has received the most big data project inquiries in the last twelve months. However, freelancers do not achieve the highest hourly rate there. This is shown by a recent analysis by the personnel service provider Gulp.

... only 0.6% of the total. In 2015, this figure was already 1 % and in 2016 1.5 %. On average, nine freelancers were requested for each open project position, which is well below the overall average of 13 experts. Symanek explains: "This phenomenon could be an indication that the supply of big data freelancers is still quite small or that the requirements are so highly specialized that there are only a few experts who are suitable."
