Germany's skilled workers are picky. According to the Stepstone study, the image of the company is also important when looking for a job today. If applicants cannot identify with the company, eight out of ten skilled workers would turn down a suitable position.

87 percent expect their line manager to allow them to work independently. In addition, 86 percent expect a cooperative working relationship. 84% hope that their line manager will support them and provide feedback on their work. In contrast, only 65% expect their line manager to motivate them.
