Germany's skilled workers are picky. According to the Stepstone study, the image of the company is also important when looking for a job today. If applicants cannot identify with the company, eight out of ten skilled workers would turn down a suitable position.

Well-paid jobs have the best prospects of a salary increase. 24 percent of the specialists and managers surveyed rate their chances of a pay rise as good. 39 percent stated that their chances were rather slim. This is particularly true for nursing staff and professionals in the education and social services sectors.
