MiR appoints new president

Mobile Industrial Robots appoints Jean-Pierre Hathout as President of the company. Hathout succeeds Walter Vahey, who will remain available to the company as a consultant until his planned retirement in 2024.

Jean-Pierre Hathout was most recently President of SIT Controls USA. Prior to that, he worked at Bosch for 17 years, including several international management positions, and was responsible for the successful integration of several companies acquired by Bosch. He holds a doctorate in mechanical engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT).

In his role as advisor to Hathout, Walter Vahey will ensure a smooth transition of business expertise and leadership. Vahey has served as President of MiR, a manufacturer of Autonomous Mobile Robots, since October 2022 and was instrumental in leading the company's merger with AutoGuide Mobile Robots. Prior to that, he held leadership positions at MiR's parent company, Teradyne, for 37 years.
