Forecasting the service life of machines and systems

With the i.Cee:local module, Igus has developed a new 'home' for the 'smart plastics' software.

The Igus module calculates the remaining service life of the energy chain, cable, linear guide and plain bearing during operation in order to optimize the service life of a system, detect and rectify faults at an early stage and plan maintenance with foresight. The intelligent module bundles the data from all 'smart plastics' systems used and prepares it for the maintenance technician.

Firstly, the module is home to the open source i.Cee software, and secondly, the module offers multi-connectivity: various Industry 4.0 use cases can be realized thanks to the possibility of seamless integration into the network environments provided for this purpose. The module's data can be accessed either via a display on the system, via a cloud solution or an IoT dashboard, as a JSON/MQTT protocol, on the intranet, via the REST API interface or directly via SMS or email.
