ESX-3CS the 32-bit ESX controller family from STW
© Sensor-Technik Wiedemann

Developed and manufactured for use under harsh conditions, the ESX-3CS expands the 32-bit "ESX" controller family from Sensor-Technik Wiedemann with a small controller. Particular attention was paid to ensuring that the input and output types are compatible with the "ESX-3CM" in order to enable simple scalability of the functionalities. With a total of 30 analog and digital inputs and outputs in the standard configuration, the small controller is designed as a compact central controller for sensor-actuator management. It has 16 multifunctional inputs whose functionality can be set via software. It is possible to record current, voltage, frequencies or digital switching states (events) at the input. In addition to the inputs, a maximum of 14 outputs are available. By connecting several outputs in parallel within a group, actuators with higher power requirements can also be controlled. Two of the outputs are designed as low-side outputs and thus enable a two-channel switch-off of actuators if required. In addition to the two CAN connections, the small controller offers an optional Ethernet, RS232 and LIN interface for communication. The controller is based on a 32-bit TriCore processor clocked at 300 MHz. A separate system supervisor with programmable watchdog is available as an option.
