Data access to field devices in the process industry
With Omnimate-Data-Ethernet-APL, Weidmüller is addressing the specific challenges of the process industry. Ethernet-APL (Advanced Physical Layer) enables direct access down to the field and device level.
Weidmüller already has a large number of products that are qualified for the Ethernet APL standard. These include Omnimate PCB components. The plug-in and field-attachable connectors make it possible to establish a reliable connection to field devices using two-wire technology. This means that system data is available in real time. The supplier's products, which are qualified in accordance with the Ethernet APL standard, enable reliable data transmission at 10 Mbit/s with simultaneous power supply via twisted pair cables up to 1000 m. Ethernet-APL is suitable for all IIoT devices and compatible with all common protocols such as Profinet, Ethernet/IP or Ethercat. The PCB components are available with various proven connection technologies, with push-in, snap-in, clamping yoke or tension clamp connection.
