Networked mobility / Smart FactoryBosch strengthens presence in Mexico
German automotive supplier Bosch is investing over 100 million euros in a new plant in Mexico: a new smart factory for electronic components is to be built in the city of Celaya in the state of Guanajuato by 2019, creating 1,200 additional jobs.

Bosch currently has twelve production sites on Mexican soil. The German company has been present in Mexico since 1955 and opened a new production facility for driving safety systems in Aguascalientes in 2016. At the end of 2017, a plant for steering systems went into operation in Querétaro. The country is also gaining in importance as a development location: Bosch has been operating a center for software development and engineering services for the American market in Guadalajara since 2014. The Bosch Connectory, a workshop for start-ups in the fields of IoT and mobility, is now also located there. A large part of the investments also flowed into the USA: the Mobility Solutions plants in Charleston and Anderson are currently being expanded. At the beginning of this month, Bosch reopened its Research and Technology Center in Sunnyvale in Silicon Valley, which has been in existence for almost 20 years, following a relocation.
