German automotive supplier Bosch is investing over 100 million euros in a new plant in Mexico: a new smart factory for electronic components is to be built in the city of Celaya in the state of Guanajuato by 2019, creating 1,200 additional jobs.

For example, a Manufacturing Execution System (MES) will be used, which automatically collects data and provides real-time information about production. This will make it possible to maintain machines proactively and improve product quality. "By mid-2019, the entire production process in almost all Bosch plants in Mexico will be equipped with our intelligent control system," says René Schlegel, President of the Bosch Group in Mexico.
