Great-great-grandson of the company founder dies
Siemens mourns the loss of Peter C. von Siemens. The great-great-great-grandson of company founder Werner von Siemens died in Munich on December 11, 2021 at the age of 84.
Peter von Siemens began his career in 1959 as a university intern at Siemens & Halske in Munich while studying electrical engineering. He completed an apprenticeship at Siemens-Schuckertwerke AG.
After many positions in the company, he took over the commercial management of public switching technology in communications engineering in 1975. In 1980, he was appointed Director General. He was appointed to the Managing Board in 1987 and became a member of the Supervisory Board in 1993. He stepped down from this position in 2008 and was replaced by Gerd von Brandenstein. Nathalie von Siemens has represented the Siemens family on the Supervisory Board since 2015.
"In Peter von Siemens, we are losing a great personality who shaped our company," says Roland Busch, President and CEO of Siemens AG. "We remember his great achievements for Siemens, his prudence and his foresight. Our deepest sympathy goes out to his family."
