© Kontron
With the M2M Smart Service Developer Kit, Kontron is launching a plug & play solution for the development of wireless solutions based on the Intel Atom processor. The kit, which is based on Computer-on-Modules (COMs), was specially developed to accelerate the market launch of M2M (machine-to-machine) solutions for cloud-based smart services that transmit and aggregate data from edge node and gateway devices. The largely pre-configured kit integrates an M2M system carrier board and an AV board in addition to the COM Express-compatible nanoETXexpress-TT computer-on-module. 802.11a/b/g/n WLAN (wireless local area network) is integrated as well as 802.15.4 WPAN (wireless personal area network), 3G WWAN (wireless wide area network) is optionally pre-installed. Alternatively, other pluggable and pre-certified PCI Express 3G/4G modules can be retrofitted. The system includes a pre-installed 90-day trial version of Wind River Linux 4.1. The kit also includes a LiveUSB drive from Wind River including software packages and drivers. An external USB port simplifies the use of M2M SDKs from independent M2M software houses. With a built-in accelerometer and dual HDMI and HD audio support, developers can implement motion tracking as well as sophisticated audio/video features.
