Cutting dough pieces faster and more gently: The jury awarded second place in the Robotics Award 2013 to the company EEP Maschinenbau from Zeiselmauer in Austria. It awarded the prize to its robot system for cutting dough pieces directly in production. An innovative three-dimensional image recognition system is linked to a delta high-speed robot system (shown in the picture). The position and height profile of the raw dough pieces are thus determined automatically and step-by-step. An ultrasonic knife cuts a wide variety of pastries and is designed to prevent very sticky dough from sticking to the cutting blade.
