With the safe contact extension, Bihl+Wiedemann has developed a 22.5 mm wide module that allows the user to turn one safe electronic output into up to eight potential-free contacts. It can be used wherever potential-free switching is required or the current of the electronic safe output is insufficient. The device is available as a 1- or 2-channel version. Each channel has four contact sets, so that up to eight potential-free safe contacts and two EDM inputs are available with the 2-channel module. The total current is 12 A per channel. According to the supplier, the safe contact extension is particularly suitable as an addition to the basic safety monitor and the gateways with integrated safety monitor from Bihl+Wiedemann.
