With the release of groov 2.0, Opto22 is expanding its browser-based HMI interface with OPC UA functionality for connecting to control systems such as Siemens Simatic, Schneider Electric Modicon or GE PACSystems. The OPC-UA client interface is a new feature that opens up communication with the familiar control systems in the industrial sector. An OPC-UA-compatible OPC server is required. The HMI interface communicates directly via this interface and makes the data available company-wide and worldwide. Another new feature is the purely software-based groov server solution. Once the groov server has been installed on an existing server, process images are created and the data is immediately available remotely on all end devices with a modern web browser. The server can be used on any Microsoft Windows 7/8 server computer.
