The 'Projected Capacitive (PCAP) Touchscreen' technology from NLT Technologies is available for more than 30 different display versions. In addition to standard versions, MSC also offers variants for demanding applications with ultra-wide viewing angles, particularly high brightness and an extended temperature range, as well as models with optically bonded touchscreens. The displays are available with diagonals from 6.5 to 15.6 inches. One of the distinguishing features of PCAP technology is that the touch surface is flush with the outer wheels of the display, which in many cases facilitates installation in the end device. The 'Diamond' pattern X/Y single-glass design is based on an Atmel maxTouch controller. The operating surface is a 0.7 mm thick cover glass with anti-glare and anti-fingerprint coating bonded to the sensor. A GUI-based 'tuning software' supports the user in setting the most important parameters. In the standard version, the sensor is bonded to the display all the way around and the space in between is filled with air. The anti-glare and anti-fingerprint treated cover glass is optically bonded to the sensor over the entire surface. Fully optically bonded touchscreen versions are available as an option. In this case, the space between the LCD and the touch sensor is also filled with a highly transparent adhesive.
