The CMGA electrical safety system for motor controllers from Festo monitors command input devices, safety sensors and switches, encoders and measuring systems. If required, it triggers the appropriate protective measures for emergency stop switches, safety gates, light curtains, operating mode selector switches and other devices. The certification proves the suitability for safety-oriented applications, so that the machine can be easily approved by the employers' liability insurance association or TÜV. The safety functions according to EN 61800-5-2 are available, for example SS1, SS2, SOS, SLS, SLT, SLP, SDI, logic connections AND, OR, NOT, RS flip-flop. The safety system monitors up to 65 input/output signals and complies with PLe category 4. Pre-programmed application programs are available for simpler configurations, while more complex solutions can be freely configured via individual programming. As an option, the system offers modular communication interfaces for various fieldbuses.
