Bihl+Wiedemann has added the AS-i 3.0 gateway Profisafe via Profinet BWU2805 to its range of safety gateways for use with the Profisafe protocol. The gateway with integrated safety monitor, with which AS-i safety input slaves can report via Profisafe and AS-i safety output slaves can write via Profisafe, has an integrated Ethernet diagnostics interface for fast remote diagnostics and remote maintenance. The double master gateway in the "one gateway, one power supply unit for two AS-i circuits" version is a solution for medium-sized and large systems, as both AS-i circuits can be supplied by a single power supply unit. Configuration data can be stored on the gateway's chip card. Thanks to extended diagnostic functions such as double address detection, integrated earth fault and EMC monitor, the two AS-i circuits can be diagnosed continuously.
