According to Vision Components, the hardware accelerator can be easily integrated into the design of embedded vision electronics, allowing more flexibility in the choice of processor board. The 2.8 cm x 2.4 cm module handles, for example, color space conversions, barcode identifications or data fusion of stereo vision and multi-camera applications. In the first stage, the hardware accelerator is available with an open FPGA for customer programming and with demo applications for typical areas of use. For series production, it can either be combined with an already available carrier board with multiple MIPI inputs and outputs, or alternatively integrated as a module directly into the design of a mainboard.
