First TSN Certification Program
AVNU's TSN certification program is the first of its kind to certify Time Sensitive Networking (TSN) capabilities, specifically the 802.1 TSN standards developed by IEEE SA.
[DE] The certification programme that has now been launched will initially focus on the core standards for timing and synchronization for time-critical applications (802.1AS) and extensions for scheduled traffic (EST). It is to be expanded this year to also cover express traffic (IET) and the forwarding and queuing of time-critical data streams (FQTSS).
The component certification program was developed to enable the introduction of convergent networks. By certifying their products, manufacturers, vendors and solution providers can ensure that their TSN-enabled products meet market requirements. Users will also benefit from a wider choice of certified standard devices that can be integrated into their networks without disrupting operations.

Companies are increasingly relying on convergent networks to integrate IT and operational technologies (OT). For time-critical applications where data must be delivered reliably and with limited latency, TSN capabilities can enable different types of traffic to coexist on the same network. For these devices to be successfully deployed and managed, interoperability and conformance to the TSN standards defined by IEEE SA are critical.
