Parameterizable system solution

The 'VO330570' optical displacement measuring system from ipf with a scanning range of 15 to 60 mm detects all moving objects without contact and therefore without slippage, regardless of material or color.

The incremental sensor works with infrared light of laser class 1. According to ipf, its sampling rate of 0.9 ms makes it particularly suitable for detecting materials in very fast-running processes. Parameterization is carried out using free PC software, with the units pulse/mm, m/min and mm available. If the sensor remains connected to the PC during operation, the software also determines the travel speed of the detected object. An integrated rotary encoder output provides two square-wave signals A/B, phase-shifted by 90°, so that a travel distance can also be displayed by connecting a counter. A further switching output makes it possible to parameterize a zero point for a predefined distance, for example to reset a counter or to process the signal in a PLC. The second output can also be parameterized as an alarm output.
