Since the plant in Chengdu was founded in 2004, Balluff has further developed the site in several expansion stages. The new technology and innovation center is located in the existing company building and comprises around 400 square meters of laboratory and office space. The focus is on the development of sensor technologies, including inductive sensors and position measuring systems, as well as connection technology and industrial networking. By closely integrating engineering expertise, manufacturing know-how and customer proximity, Balluff aims to shorten development cycles and provide solutions that are precisely tailored to the requirements of local markets.

"In close cooperation with our technology centers in Germany and Hungary, the technology and innovation center in Chengdu enables us to provide our customers with even more targeted support. Our aim is to be as close as possible to their requirements and to offer them not only strong local sales and service, but also the technological expertise to develop suitable solutions together," says Florian Hermle, Managing Director of Balluff.

With the establishment of the technology and innovation center in Chengdu, Balluff is investing around 15 million euros over a period of five years in the further expansion of its global engineering network. In the initial phase, around 25 developers will be working there; in the coming years, the team is expected to grow to more than 50 employees.
