Euchner
Security technology for today and tomorrow
Tailored to the needs of customers from various industries, EUCHNER develops and produces solutions that safeguard guards on machines. This minimizes hazards, protects people and makes processes more efficient at the same time.
Simply everything inside - the EKS2 Electronic-Key-System
With the EKS2 Electronic-Key-System, Euchner from Leinfelden-Echterdingen is launching a key system of the latest generation onto the market. The development achieves three goals: easy to implement, easy to operate and easy to adapt. For the safety specialist Euchner, it goes without saying that the focus is on safety technology.
As a consistent further development of the successful EKS system, the latest generation offers many advantages in terms of digital access control and operating mode selection. Template projects with predefined functions and data fields reduce the programming effort for integration to a minimum. Current requirements, such as security aspects, are taken into account from the outset.
Euchner relies on Profinet for communication, combined with proven safe semiconductor outputs. The included Profinet switch makes integration into the widely used bus system extremely easy. The 1-out-of-n safety outputs are connected directly to a safe control system and evaluated there. This enables, for example, operating mode selection at the highest PL e safety level.
Instead of programming the complete operating mode selection in the controller as was previously the case, the customer selects a suitable project and only configures individual parameters via the GSDML file in their project planning software. Compact installation dimensions, keys suitable for industrial use and a hygiene-friendly design of the reader unit offer additional benefits.
"More than 20 years of experience with the existing EKS system and numerous discussions with customers have been incorporated into the development," says the responsible Product Manager Marc Wiederoder, adding: "Sometimes only a few optimizations are needed to make a good system even better. The main aim is to make it as easy as possible for the customer to use the system.
Innovative guard locking devices: the compact CTS and the CTA for harsh environments
High locking force, compact design and maximum flexibility - this is what the new CTS guard locking stands for.
© EuchnerSafety switches with guard locking are indispensable for protecting people from danger in production or for safeguarding processes. The transponder-coded safety switches with guard locking offer the highest level of safety. The latest development in this area is the CTS safety switch. Thanks to its small dimensions (135 x 31 x 31 mm), a high locking force of max. 3900 N and its flexible installation options, the switch is extremely versatile. The CTS has three possible mounting orientations so that it can secure swing and sliding doors. A retrofittable escape release is now available and further extends the range of applications.
The CTA safety switch has already proven itself many times over. Thanks to its robust metal housing and a locking force of up to 8000 N, it is suitable for heavy doors. The high degree of protection IP65 / IP67 / IP69 / IP69K makes this switch an all-rounder for almost any industrial application, especially for harsh and dirty environments.
All guard locking devices have various connection options. In combination with an EUCHNER IO-Link gateway, they are also capable of communication and can therefore be used for Industry 4.0 applications.
New features of the all-rounder MGB2 Modular
In addition to PROFINET/PROFISAFE, the MGB2 Modular door locking system is now also available for connection to EtherCAT P/FSoE and EtherCAT/FSoE.
© EuchnerThe MGB2 Modular secures safety gates and fences on machines and systems during hazardous machine movements. The highlight of this all-rounder: thanks to the modular system design, the MGB2 Modular can be perfectly adapted to individual requirements. The MGB2 Modular consists of the locking module, the plug-in submodules with operating and display functions and an MBM bus module for connection to PROFINET/ PROFISAFE and, more recently, to EtherCAT/FSoE and EtherCAT P/FSoE. By using two submodules, a total of up to six different operating and display elements can be integrated in the locking module. All information from the connected modules converges in the MBM bus module and is transmitted to the system's control unit. The extensive diagnostic and communication functions in the form of EtherCAT or PROFINET messages and the integrated web server provide a quick and detailed overview of the status of the device.
Consulting, engineering and training for machine safety
Euchner Safety Services supports manufacturers and operators in all phases of the life cycle of machines and systems in meeting the statutory safety requirements.
© EuchnerEuchner Safety Services provides information about its portfolio of consulting and engineering services. The team of experts supports manufacturers and operators in all phases of the life cycle of machines and systems in meeting the statutory safety requirements. With its engineering services, the experienced team can support customers as a full-service provider - in addition to design and planning, this also includes implementation, i.e. the integration of safety-related solutions. Machine operators in particular benefit from an all-round service for conversions, integrations and retrofits. The Euchner Academy also offers practical training courses on all aspects of machine safety.
