Günter Herkommer,

The 'Human Robot Forum 2019' in Stuttgart

Human-robot collaboration is becoming the cornerstone of the smart factory of tomorrow. But how can HRC be used sensibly and economically in production today? Answers to this question will be provided at the 4th 'Human-Robot Forum' on October 23-24 in Stuttgart.

New this year: round-table discussions and a visit to the robotics laboratories at Fraunhofer IPA.

The implementation of the "smart factory" vision is picking up speed worldwide. This is accompanied by an unmissable development: robots are leaving their "cages" and will in future work with and alongside their human colleagues without any separating protective devices. This requires completely new production and safety concepts. What do these look like? How can the new production assistants be programmed and integrated into production by non-robotics experts? What possible applications are there? What role do AI and machine learning play in the safe handling of HRC?

Questions upon questions will be the focus of the 4th Human Robot Forum and will be answered first-hand by the experts on site. The experience reports and presentations will focus on the latest technological innovations in the fields of HRC and robotics. An accompanying trade exhibition with many live demonstrations and a tour of the Fraunhofer IPA robot laboratories will round off the event.

The top topics of the two-day event are:

  • Potentials, challenges, risks and the diversity of applications with HRC
  • Technological innovations: Gripping intelligence, protection and safety technology, sensor technology and vision
  • New concepts in robot programming: intuitive programming and "easy to use"
  • Sensitive robotics: learning vision through AR support
  • Artificial intelligence (AI ) for HRC and machine learning
  • Asia: Latest market figures on human-robot collaboration 7
  • Use cases: Integration of collaborative robotics from an ergonomic and economic point of view

New this year are round table discussions: Visitors will have 60 minutes at each round table to interactively discuss individual questions from their practical work with the speakers. The individual round tables:

  • Round Table 1: HRC becomes intelligent - What influence will AI have on future robot applications? (Prof. Dr. Marco Huber, Fraunhofer IPA)
  • Round Table 2: Pure market and supplier growth - How is robotics developing worldwide? (Dr. Susanne Bieller, International Federation of Robotics / IFR)
  • Round Table 3: Seeing and feeling robots - Is HRC becoming more autonomous? (Dr. Michael Suppa, Roboception)
  • Round Table 4: Using HRC safely in operation - How do I increase my learning curve? (Dr. Sebastian Keller, BMW Group)

The complete program and the possibility to register can be found on the website of the 'Forum Mensch Roboter'.
