Honeywell acquires measurement technology specialist Elster
Honeywell has completed the acquisition of the German measurement technology specialist Elster. Elster's products and technologies will be integrated into Honeywell's Environmental & Energy Solutions (E&ES) and Honeywell Process Solutions divisions.
Tim Darkes, President, Honeywell Environmental & Energy Solutions said of the integration of the leading German provider of gas combustion, control and metering solutions for gas, electricity and water:
"Elster contributes outstanding people, technology and a global customer base of utilities that are highly complementary to Honeywell's products and solutions in the Homes, Building and Energy sectors. Elster's market position in smart metering is an excellent fit with our Connected Home and Connected Building businesses."
Darkes continued: "Our joint product and solution offering in combustion technology makes us one of the world's leading suppliers of industrial combustion technology. Our common goal is to continue to introduce innovative new products and strengthen our worldwide market position to continue our global growth."
Elster products and technologies also complement Honeywell Process Solutions' activities in the gas sector. The newly formed division includes ultrasonic meters, flow meters, electronic volume correctors, gas analyzers, station computers and gas pressure regulators for the natural gas industry.Vimal Kapur, President Honeywell Process Solutions said: "Elster becomes part of a market leader within the Honeywell Group that can draw on sufficient global resources. This will drive growth and new innovations in Elster's businesses."
