SmartFactory KL
Change in the Executive Board
The 19th regular general meeting of the SmartFactory KL technology initiative took place on May 11, 2023. Dr. Detlev Richter is a new member of the board.
Dr. Detlev Richter has been employed by TÜV Süd since 2010 and is now Vice President & Global Business Line Manager. He replaces Klaus Stark von Pilz, who has been a member of the SmartFactoryKL (SF-KL) Executive Board since 2017 and did not stand for re-election this year.
SmartFactory-KL is a research and industry network based on three pillars: an association (SmartFactory KL (SF-KL) technology initiative) and two scientific research institutions ('Innovative Factory Systems' at DFKI and the Chair of Machine Tools and Controls (WSKL) at the Rhineland-Palatinate Technical University of Kaiserslautern-Landau). Since 2019, Prof. Dr. Martin Ruskowski has been Chairman of the Board of the association, head of the DFKI research department and holder of the chair. The longest-serving member of the Board is Andreas Huhmann from Harting, where he works as Strategy Consultant Connectivity + Networks. He was elected in 2011 and Eric Brabänder joined the Executive Board in 2022. He is Chief Evangelist & Vice President Products and a member of the Executive Board at Empolis.
