Pilz at the SPS 2024
IIoT gateway or soft PLC
Thanks to numerous input and output modules, the industrial PC from Pilz can be used as a gateway in Industrial Internet environments (IIoT) or as a soft PLC. As an IIoT gateway, the device can be easily integrated into existing system architectures. In the direct environment of machines and systems, for example, it collects process or operating data and transmits it directly to a company cloud. As a soft PLC, the device can control machines and systems. It acts as a standard controller for automation and drive technology and can be used for a wide range of automation projects. This includes pure control applications as well as synchronous axis movements in the drive train of machines. The industrial PC is available in two different versions: One is 'IndustrialPI 4' with 4 Gbyte RAM memory, 32 Gbyte eMMC data memory and 64 bit operating system, and the other is 'IndustrialPI 4 Wifi' with 8 Gbyte RAM, 32 Gbyte eMMC and 64 bit OS. This can be used as a gateway, data collector and diagnostic unit in conjunction with the safe small controller 'PNOZmulti 2' and the automation system 'PSS 4000' from Pilz.
