Helmholz at the SPS 2024
Profinet or Ethernet up to 1000 Mbit/s
The 'FLEXtra Profinet' switch from Helmholz offers maximum flexibility thanks to freely configurable RJ45 ports, which can be used as Profinet or Ethernet with up to 1000 Mbit/s depending on the application.
This enables communication between the control level and machine in one switch. Profinet prioritization of the machine level is always guaranteed. In addition to Profinet, functions such as SNMP, NTP, VLAN, port mirroring, QoS/CoS mapping and comprehensive statistics are also available for managing the Ethernet network. The new FLEXtra switch from Helmholz can distinguish whether the telegram is a web request, an FTP file transfer, a media stream or a Profinet telegram. In the event of a high transmission load, the important telegrams are prioritized to prevent telegram losses in the machine components.
The arrangement of the Ethernet ports saves space in the cable routing and in the control cabinet. Highly visible status LEDs on the top of the switch enable quick and easy diagnostics even when the cabling is full. In addition, the new version of the FLEXtra-Switch series offers two SFP ports for fiber optic transmission at 1000 Mbit/s, as singlemode or multimode.
The supported Profinet protocols, for example LLDP, DCP or diagnostic alarms, can be easily parameterized and managed via Profinet or the web interface. A redundant power supply unit also ensures a high level of reliability.
