Access to machine tool data
With the uaGate 840D sl gateway from Softing Industrial, the complete 'Sinumerik 840D' machine tool data is also available via OPC UA and can be used directly in Industry 4.0 applications.
Until now, the only solutions available for the further use of machine tool data outside the Siemens world were solutions for accessing the data of the integrated 'Simatic S7' controller. The new gateway expands the integration options for the CNC control and enables access to the NC and drive data via OPC UA communication technology. This allows important spindle and axis data such as torque and power consumption to be read out and processed. This data is available for analysis tasks such as spindle and axis monitoring.
