Turck is adding master modules for the 'BL20' and 'BL67' modular I/O systems to its portfolio of I/O-Link solutions. The I/O-Link master modules support the specification 1.1 with the transmission rates 4.8 kBaud, 38.4 kBaud and 230.4 kBaud (COM 1, COM 2 and COM 3). The BL67 system is a modular I/O-Link master in IP67 with an operating temperature range of -40 to +70 °C for harsh industrial environments. The 4-channel modules can be used with the gateways for Profibus, CANopen and the Ethernet protocols Profinet, Ethernet/IP and Modbus TCP; Ethercat, Devicenet and Modbus RTU will follow in a second step. The modules support the manufacturer's multiprotocol technology, which allows the same device to be used in Profinet, Ethernet/IP and Modbus TCP networks. The multi-protocol devices can be operated fully automatically in any of the three Ethernet systems. The devices recognize the protocol used in each case by monitoring the communication traffic during the start-up phase.
