The latest versions of the TH Scope and TH Link Profibus diagnostics solution from Trebing + Himstedt are now available. The detection of errors in Profibus networks has been improved with the threshold value monitoring function. The 'TH Link Profibus' now also indicates critical telegram repetitions in the production network. As soon as a critical value of telegram repetitions is reached (the so-called threshold value), users are automatically informed of possible error sources by e-mail. The threshold value can be adapted to local conditions and configured. Error messages can also be forwarded to higher-level systems such as process control systems via OPC or SNMP. Thanks to improved error detection, measures to rectify errors in the Profibus can be initiated at an early stage or planned maintenance intervals for production systems can be better utilized. The TH Scope diagnostic software now displays error messages from Profibus devices on the basis of GSD files (electronic device data sheets). Device-specific diagnostic messages contain explicit instructions from the respective device manufacturer on how to rectify the error, eliminating the need for time-consuming look-ups of encrypted error codes in device manuals.
