With the ihXT series, AMK is expanding its decentralized Amkasmart product range with a servo drive in the power range from 150 to 400 watts. This is a combination of synchronous servo motor and servo inverter. According to the manufacturer, typical applications are positioning tasks with high precision and low power consumption. A plug-in terminal connection in IP65 is used to connect the units. The decentralized servo drives are equipped with a hybrid cable. They receive the power from the central or decentralized power supply unit. The direct current is then looped through from one drive to the other via DC bus together with the Ethercat communication via the hybrid cable. This makes star wiring of individual drives from the control cabinet a thing of the past. In this way, up to 40 axes can be connected in series with one power supply unit.
