The Bintec-Elmeg IPSec Client from Teldat supports Windows 7, Vista and Windows XP (32- and 64-bit) in addition to Windows 8.1. The IPSec Client is suitable for use in professional VPN solutions and enables secure remote access to central company data for employees on the move and from the home office. The current version 2.32 checks the user's data throughput even when mobile reception is unstable, thus ensuring correct feedback of the VPN tunnel status. Both IPv4 and IPv6 address formats are supported. Thanks to the system tray balloon tips, the user is informed about the status of the connection setup and configuration by means of 'speech bubbles'. To improve compatibility with third-party applications, the network adapter of the IPSec client is visibly installed from Windows 7 onwards. In addition, support for mobile broadband adapters and UMTS/GPRS authentication has been optimized. A status display informs wireless LAN users about the currently available WLANs, the current field strength and the encryption type used during the connection. A WLAN wizard enables shortened profile creation and automates the secure establishment of a connection to a new WLAN.
