E°Tools HMI software from Eckelmann
© Eckelmann
Eckelmann presents the E°Tools HMI software, which can be used to create CNC user interfaces. The software integrates touch-based operating concepts such as gesture control. A distinction is made between functionality, presentation and operating philosophy. According to the manufacturer, the choice of the right programming paradigm and the appropriate framework is the key to success or failure when developing an HMI. The software takes this task off the machine builder's hands. It follows the Model-View-View-Model (MVVM) approach to programming and relies on a combination of GUI frameworks Windows Presentation Foundation (WPF), composition framework Caliburn.Micor and the Managed Extensibility Framework (MEF) to integrate additional functions into the HMI. MEF allows technology-specific additional modules to be integrated at runtime, almost like plug-ins. WPF supports vector graphics, which enables infinite scalability.
