Sieb & Meyer is presenting innovations in its drive and power feed technology systems. The SD2S/SD2 and SD2M device series offer an extended range of features. The SD2 drive system also offers extended safety functions for the operation of sensorless motors, such as zero speed monitoring and the safe limitation of a maximum output frequency. The company has also expanded the SD2M drive amplifier to include a 229 kVA version. With this version, the multilevel technology is now also available for motors from approx. 90 to 220 kW. According to the manufacturer, users benefit above all from lower motor heating. The SD2R feed-in converter is available for the power range between 15 kVA and 100 kVA and is used, for example, in (waste) gas expansion turbines, micro gas turbines, ORC systems or flywheel mass storage systems. There it serves as an interface between the high-speed generator (max. 2000 Hz) and the public power grid. The SD2R includes the generator converter and the mains inverter, which ensures compliance with the applicable VDE AR-N 4105 user rule.
