Second place in the 'Service Robotics Masters' product award went to Milan-based company Oppent SpA. The
fully automated transport system 'EVO' it has developed can follow pre-programmed routes that have been stored in its memory without direct external assistance. This system is already in use as hospital trolleys with a load capacity of up to 500 kg. Navigation is made possible by laser scanners. The floor, ceiling or walls do not need to be additionally upgraded for this. This is intended to allow maximum freedom when programming the routes. The vehicle has a programmable speed of 10 cm to 2 m per second. A special safety system ensures that obstacles on the route are detected in good time.
