The miniaturized Micromote opto sensors from Balluff with separate evaluation electronics feature miniaturized LEDs, photodiodes and phototransistors. They are particularly suitable for small installation spaces as well as for moving machine parts and robot grippers where low weight is required. The sensors, which are integrated into a metal housing, are operated with a separate amplifier that can be positioned away from the action. Flexible electrical cables ensure reliable transmission of the sensor signals between the sensor head and amplifier. This makes the sensors a technical alternative to fiber optics. The amplifier also offers ergonomic display and control elements. Thanks to a modular system, users can operate different applications - from the position detection of small parts to the detection and counting of objects and the level detection of foaming liquids. Available options include diffuse sensors, through-beam sensors, high-vacuum sensors, fork sensors and precision hose sensors.
