Freescale Semiconductor presents the Xtrinsic FXLC95000CL intelligent sensor hub. In addition to the integrated acceleration sensor with 16-bit resolution, several external sensors can be connected. The platform can be used to control the sensors individually, evaluate their data and perform complex calculations for the sensor fusion algorithms. For example, the sensor hub can be used to expand a 3-axis acceleration system into an inertial platform with nine axes, including measurement of barometric pressure, light incidence, temperature, humidity and other parameters. The sensor data can be analyzed in the module, thus reducing the load on the host processor and lowering power consumption. The Xtrinsic FXLC9500CL combines a 128K flash memory, 16K RAM and a 32-bit ColdFire V1 MCU. The operating temperature range is between -40 and +85 °C. The module is housed in a 3 x 5 x 1 mm3 LGA housing with 24 connections.
