The professional field of development has been one of the two professional fields with the highest share of the job market since 2012, according to Dekra. Companies are looking for a particularly large number of IT specialists this year: there are not only many offers for software developers and system administrators, but SAP specialists, business IT specialists and Internet specialists who are willing to change jobs have a greater choice than last year.
Dekra attributes the decline in demand for engineers primarily to the fact that demand in the mechanical engineering and vehicle construction sectors was lower in February than in the previous year. Companies may be filling some positions where this is possible with appropriately qualified technicians or master craftsmen. The supply of technicians has only fallen slightly for almost all specializations - only service technicians have seen a greater drop in demand. Electrical and measurement technicians are most frequently sought (135 positions).
