Hiwin is expanding its RG series of heavy-duty linear guideways to include smaller variants in sizes 15 and 20. Until now, the guideways in this series were only available with a rail width of between 25 and 65 mm. The linear guideways use rollers instead of balls as rolling elements, as these have a larger contact surface and are therefore subject to less deformation. In this way, the roller guideways achieve a higher load capacity and rigidity with a smaller size. According to the manufacturer, the design of the recirculating roller track and the guide rail contour with 45° contact angle determined by FEM analysis ensure smooth linear movements and the even absorption and distribution of forces in all four load directions. The guideways are available in four accuracy classes to meet different precision requirements. The carriages are available as block or flange carriages.
