Adept Technology presents the Adept SmartController EX and the T20 handheld control unit. According to the manufacturer, the controller offers a ten times more powerful high-speed processor, four times more memory capacity, 2 Gbyte SD memory card space, Gigabit Ethernet connections and an increase in operating speed of up to 5%. All robots in the 'Cobra s', 'Viper' and 'Quattro' series as well as all 'Python' systems will be offered and supplied with the new robot controller in future. The hand-held control unit, which is suitable for both right-handed and left-handed users and allows fatigue-free operation, is available as an option for the control unit. Compared to the previous model, it is lighter and has an improved color display. The 'Adept eV+' software used is based on a robust real-time system and is a further development of the 'V+ system'. The controller is backwards compatible with the supplier's 'CX' controller: users can use the same connections and the same application programs.
