Kontron presents the
COM Express compact computer-on-module COMe-cHL6. The modules in the 95 mm x 95 mm form factor are equipped with the ULT versions of the Intel Core i7/i5/i3 processors of the fourth generation as well as Intel Celeron processors (Haswell). Thanks to ULT (ultra-low TDP), fanless and completely closed system designs are possible. Applications can be found in all power-hungry, power-limited multi-touch multi-display systems such as HMIs in automation or medical image processing, in digital signage and point-of-sale systems as well as in monitoring and security systems. The new Computer-on-Modules with Pin-Out Type 6 are highly scalable. They support Intel AVX2 and OpenCL 1.2 and, according to the manufacturer, improve both floating point performance and performance density in parallel processing. Up to 16 Gbytes of energy-efficient DDR3L RAM are available. Multi-display designs are connected via three independent display outputs. Two are designed as DP++ (DisplayPort, HDMI, DVI) and one as dual-channel LVDS. The standard interfaces include four SATA ports with 6 Gbit/s, Gigabit Ethernet (GbE), two USB3.0 ports and eight USB2.0 ports. Application-specific extensions on the carrier board are connected via four PCIe x1 or one PCIe x4. An additional PCIe x2 interface is possible without the GbE function. The support of wide-range power supplies (8.5 to 20 V) and the Smart Battery System 'Mars' simplifies mobile and battery-powered designs. The Computer-on-Modules support Microsoft Windows 8 and 7 as well as Linux and VxWorks.
