Advantech introduces the latest version of Susiaccess, a remote device management software that is part of all of the vendor's embedded products. By integrating Intel's Active Management Technology (AMT) and Clickatell's SMS gateway service, version 2.1 of the software enables efficient remote management, monitoring and maintenance. The tool can be used to continuously monitor the status of multiple systems. If an error condition is detected, an alarm notification can be sent by e-mail or SMS. Other functions include system recovery (with Acronis), system protection (with McAfee) and remote KVM for the protection and recovery of faulty systems. By integrating AMT into the software, administrators can access their systems even if they are switched off or if the operating system has crashed. With the help of Clickatell, a global SMS gateway service, SMS alerts can be sent to cell phones over the Internet without 3G connections.
