CVS-1457RT from National Instruments is a compact vision system that features a 1.66 GHz Intel Atom processor and two independent Power over Ethernet (PoE) ports for GigE vision cameras. The PoE ports support deterministic camera triggering via Ethernet, allowing users to power the camera, send triggers and capture images with just one Ethernet cable. The device has FPGA-enabled I/O that can be combined with the Vision RIO API to seamlessly synchronize vision inspection results with other parts of the system, such as encoders, ejectors and proximity sensors. The system is programmed using either the 'Labview' system design software or the 'Vision Builder for Automated Inspection' (AI). Integrated I/O includes eight isolated digital inputs and eight isolated digital outputs, two TTL I/O (transistor-transistor logic), one quadrature encoder, one VGA port, two USB ports, one serial port and one LAN port. The vision system is part of the Labview RIO architecture.
