The fieldbus gateways and block I/O modules that speak Profinet IO, Modbus TCP or Ethernet/IP are also new. The multiprotocol devices can be operated automatically in any of the three Ethernet systems. Users who use different Ethernet protocols can effectively reduce the number of device variants to be kept in stock with the new multiprotocol solutions.
